‍E-Leizh - new lineup, new videos!

04/01/2026

‍We turn your attention to one of the most intriguing bands in Brittany, E-Leizh. While we don’t agree on everything, here at ATB we are all big fans of E-Leizh. We reviewed their first recording, L8.1, as an incredibly promising start, and their second, Roud (L8.2), as an exciting addition.

‍Sharp-eyed viewers spotted a changed lineup in concert footage a couple of years ago, since confirmed by social media posts. It appears that founding guitarist Yann-Guirec Le Bars has moved on to other things, fair enough after a decade, and has been replaced by not just one but two rather tasty new additions to the band. First is talented young bouzouki player Martin Chapron, joined by the wildly talented veteran Erwan Volant (Hamon Martin Quintet) on fretless bass. In addition, violinist Pierre Stephan has moved on, not from the band, but from violin over to mandolin.

‍Notice in the gallery above that the band is obviously working on a new recording. Nice! The result of all of these changes we leave to you to experience, presented below in two rather splendid YouTube videos the band recently released.
